Kathmandu: The dispute over the title of the film 'Ek Bhagavad Gita' has been successfully resolved. The film's producers have agreed to change the title, and it will now be known as 'Ek Bhagavad ra Ek Gita' (social story).
This resolution comes after several organizations, including Vishwa Hindu Mahasangh, Shiv Sena Nepal, Vishwa Hindu Yuva Sangh, Jagatguru Ashram, and 13 others associated with Hindu Jagaran Nepal, filed a complaint with the Film Development Board to stop the screening of the film. They argued that the original title and characters in the movie were offensive to Sanatan Dharma (the eternal religion).
The Film Development Board played a role in mediating the agreement between the two sides, promoting cooperation and understanding within the film industry.
Film producer Sunil Kumar Thapa announced that the movie will be screened with its new title on the previously scheduled date of September 15. He emphasized that while they respected everyone's sentiments, the film itself did not intend to harm or offend any religion or community.
Directed by Jharna Thapa, the film features actors such as Bipin Karki, Suhana Thapa, and Dhiraj Magar.
